Magnaglo Inspection Magnaglo inspection is the next stage after the EMI inspection. A black light uses the longitudinal field saturating the rod by the EMI machine. First the rod pins plus 12 inches of the rod are cleansed with solvent. Then the rod is sprayed with a mixture of magna glow 14-A powder and solvent. Again the inspector uses a black light with magnification to look for stress cracks in the rod ends. After the rods are black light inspected, RMR applies corrosion inhibitor to the pin ends and installs new thread protectors on them. |
