Casper Area Chamber of Commerce Announces Winner of 2007-08 Business Challenge

The Casper Area Chamber of Commerce awarded Rocky Mountain Rod Guide Plant of Casper with the largest prize package yet for the Casper Business Challenge. A panel of independent judges statewide selected the winning business.

Rocky Mountain Rod was received the largest prize packet to date, $53,750 in cash and in-kind services, donated by Casper Chamber members, for entering a complete Challenge packet. Their entry outlined the concept of their business, business plan, how the business will be structured and marketed as well as the financial viability and feasibility of the new business.

Rocky Mountain Rod, Inc. inspects sucker rods and the new Rocky Mountain Guide Plant installs a new patented rod guide. The new rod guide, called the “Channel XL,” is injection molded onto the rod body and is an improvement over other designs in that is has 20-30% more erodible wear volume without sacrificing by pass area. Also, it wipes the tubing in the full 360° of circumference for both reciprocating and rotating rod lift applications.
